COMPANY HISTORY

Apella is based out of Adrian Michigan with operations in Keysville Virginia and Zolfo Springs Florida.  Apella has markets throughout the United States. Apella Real Estate Business Solutions is privately owned and held.

Apella Real Estate Business Solutions was formed in 2003 with the idea of being a real estate service provider company to other real estate companies and industries. The name of the company came from the first form of democracy by free people that with the right tools were able to make decisions to guide and rule their own lives in B.C. Greece.

Apella soon formed into a real estate appraisal business with its main customer base being lenders such as mortgage companies, banks and credit unions with some government customers and private individuals. Apella evolved into an appraisal management company when the then current customer base began to request larger and larger coverage areas and additional services.  It was when the appraisers who came into contact with hundreds of homeowners both while on the job and in their private time noticed that there was a need for a different kind of company.

Though basic communication with homeowners appraisers realized that the homeowners had several questions about the appraisal industry and real estate.  More so that the questions were for the most part the same ones. The appraisers noted that the homeowners needed a better understanding of the appraisal industry and what appraisers could do for them, that in short, homeowners needed better resources. Apella’s current business is meeting the needs of the homeowners in services, products and education.

Apella Real Estate Business Solutions is a real estate appraisal and home inspection management company. We developed our services of residential appraisals, commercial appraisal management for small business, home inspection management and consulting based on what we learned from homeowners and clients. Apella developed a network of real estate professionals that homeowners can access when they have other needs then appraisal or home inspections. The network we are proud to say was developed and is maintained because homeowners asked for it or suggested a need for it. Apella is committed to the education of homeowners as to how they can use real estate services and products to their best needs and what is available to them. We value the homeowners impute and promise to always try to do our best to accommodate them.

With feedback from Apella’s appraisers the company became a “Resource Center” where we supply education and convenience. Customers may contact us or use our website to learn many aspects to real estate and small business or order services that are designed just for their needs. Visitors to our web site can gain access to a varied and diverse collection of tools from books, articles, and links to the accessing of peer groups or real estate educational providers.

Apella acknowledged early on that a network that has reason to go above and beyond was needed that could produce educated consumers taking part in real estate business. Our vendors are supplied with educational opportunities and resources aimed at helping them run more efficient companies, produce the best possible quality for their product and acquire growth. Apella is pleased to be able to state that we have developed a superior network by the means of respect, communication and mutual goals. With the use of coffee clutches our vendors learn of what is current within their industry, hold open discussion on issues that may affect them and/or are directed at improving the industries, gain access to technology and process’ to improve their business, and learn of upcoming classes/seminars offered through our educational institution sponsors.

From Apella’s history the main objective came about and is to do our part to improve the real estate industry as a whole and be a strong corporate neighbor in our community. Apella achieves this objective by promoting communication and education throughout our network and customer base. Apella holds the core stance that it is vital to our company’s interest to use innovation and improvements and cooperation to promote people, positive community development and our real estate industries. From our countless hours of communicating with homeowners we evolved to be different, a company that recognizes that people are the reason that we are in business. Because of this real fact, we have put programs and projects in place that we are pleased to bring to light. Some of are the process of cosponsoring property owner seminars with a multitude of companies in an effort to promote consumer awareness. A community outreach program developed to provide for established institutions and non-profit organizations the opportunity to gain awareness through our website and blogs. Apella recognized that local community action is vital and therefore developed a resume’ forwarding policy as well as a non-real estate related small business directory in order to promote a strong economic base with in our immediate communities. Apella and our appraisers saw the need in addressing improvements for consumer protection and appraiser security and put in place programs to work with government bodies and technology development companies and looks forward to being an industry leader in this area.

 A WORD ABOUT THE OWNER

 

Shane Leady was born and raised in SE Michigan. At the age of 18 he graduated Sand Creek High School in 1989 where he studied in general courses, machines, welding and robotics.

Upon graduation Mr. Leady entered the automotive industry working for Lenawee Stamping Corporation, a Japanese owned company 500-person facility in Tecumseh Michigan where 120 different car interior body stampings and assembly components at a 250,000-car production per year schedule was produced. Here he was exposed to a High-Tech company with Japanese culture and business philosophy. Mr. Leady also gained experience with the UAW and campaigns. At year three of his six years with Lenawee Stamping Mr. Leady was promoted to Team Leader (Working Forman).

In May of 1995 Mr. Leady Left Lenawee Stamping to start his own business, through self-taught studies and by going to work for businesses in other industries such as manufacturing, retail and food service-hospitality he learned the skills needed to run a small business.

The next six years Mr. Leady worked in management for Bob Evans Farms and Rent-A-Center, worked customer service for The Home Depot, AAA NW Ohio emergency road service and Tim Horton’s, and worked production/shipping-receiving for Tron-Air, the largest manufacture of support equipment for the private jet industry. Areas of responsibilities and duties that Mr. Leady would carry while employed by different companies in different industries would become key elements to the development of his future Apella Real Estate Business Solutions. With the employment in various companies Mr. Leady gained experience in customer service, sales, collections, payroll, human resources and labor relations, facility and grounds management, time management, constant improvement, marketing, budgeting, cash handling and communications.

It was in 1997 Mr. Leady entered into the real estate industry upon receiving his real estate sales license in the State of Michigan.

In March of 2001 Mr. Leady became a Michigan State Licensed Real Estate Appraiser and has done over 6500 inspections, measurements or appraisals for countless customers in the lending industry (bank and mortgage), real estate sales professionals, attorneys, builders and homeowners. His past assignments have been for foreclosures, relocations, purchases, refinances, divorce, new construction, trust/estates and various investors. Types of homes range from 500 square foot one story homes to $950,000 two and three story lake front homes, log cabins, manufactured (BOCA/HUD) and income properties. Within this time Mr. Leady has spoken to hundreds of homeowners and real estate agents, learning and developing his company to their needs.

In the summer of 2003 Mr. Leady was one of six who developed and Started Athena National Residential Service Group, an appraisal company located out of Adrian Michigan. In being part of a startup company, Mr. Leady again found himself in a learning environment and putting to work several skills learned from big business over the past few years. Over the next 3 years the company would evolve into a success spawning five additional companies. One being Apella Real Estate Business Solutions, a company owned, operated and held by Mr. Leady solely, started in November of 2005.

Currently Mr. Leady is working on gaining his next level license and looks forward to completing this goal. Mr. Leady’s most pressing involvement is the Development of Apella Real Estate Business Solutions, in order to provide to homeowners and real estate agents an appraisal management company designed for them and their needs. Mr. Leady’s current agenda is set to promote Apella Real Estate Business Solutions as a resource for its customer base that provides superior service and quality products. Mr. Leady looks forward to developing the company in several markets and to offer additional products and services in the very near future. Mr. Leady and Apella Real Estate Business Solutions has already moved in this direction by the addition of a home inspection division launched in January of 2006 that will cater to homeowners, builders and real estate sales professionals, and the first development of additional markets in the lower United States.  In July of 2007 Operations were started out of Farmville Virginia offering real estate appraisal and home inspection management services.  The Farmville operations have since been converted to Keysville Virginia where technology based administrational support is provided.  In Mid 2009 Mr. Leady moved to expand the vendor operations to Zolfo Springs Florida and continue to operate and train staff in the Zolfo Springs area.
